Spending time connecting with nature and quietly reflecting has been a main contributor to my peace of mind these days. Nature grounds me, as it reminds me that life doesn’t have to be as complicated as we make it out to be. We are just another living being of this earth; our job is to breathe and to live. There are so many external factors that feed into our thoughts and feelings but the world is more than you and me. There is so much life around us and we should be using that to be energizing us!
Furthermore, most of us don’t receive enough sunlight, especially throughout the cold months. Vitamin D is essential to our health and it’s important to make sure you’re soaking it in each and every day.
Think of the quality of being “down-to-earth.” Now who wouldn’t want that description? There’s a reason this is so flattering. It means you aren’t superficial; you’re not selfish; you have perspective. These are all the aspects that nature can teach us.
We have also become to connected with technology that sometimes I think we forget where we came from (Always remember your roots...get it?!). Technology can provide us with an abundance of information, but nature teaches us so many valuable lessons that we cannot ignore. Patience–a plant does not grow overnight; compassion–be kind to those living around you, we have the ability to live in harmony; simplicity–just be, that is enough. I believe that we need to take time to unplug and settle our minds with the natural beauty that is all around us. We are apart of it; we are the earth. With all that circulates that can potentially bring us down, let’s work on uplifting our souls by seeking out the simplicity of recognizing how blessed we truly are to be on earth. Take a minute and notice it. Breathe in the fresh air. Be thankful you are here. Health is a precious gift. And know that when you are facing difficult times, the earth will always be here to center you.
