This is a photograph of me swinging as I watch the sun rise over a one-hundred and fifty acre farm in Dunbarton, NH.

Waking up early can be hugely beneficial to starting your day off right. First and foremost, it sets the tone of your day. Right away you are exposed to all the beauty that the natural world has to offer. How can a site like that not put you in a good frame of mind? My mom and appreciate the sunrise and sunset together. We love admiring the incredible colors that fit so gracefully together. Waking up early also gives you some time in the morning to yourself. We’ve all had those days where we’re rushing out the door; I often find that these are the days that I am overwhelmed, unfocused, and flustered throughout the day. I’m not suggesting you be up with the sun every day but give an early start a try and notice any differences you may feel!  There’s something to be said for following the natural rhythm of nature. We are so connected to technology and artificial light but when alarm clocks and phones weren’t an option, it was the sun that woke people up.
