A whole week off for Thanksgiving this year. Spontaneous trip to Montreal?
Three friends and I booked an Airbnb (I didn’t actually have any part in booking it, now that I’m thinking of it. I just threw some bucks in and trusted they had good taste) & looked forward to going north for a few days.
Some of the highlights (besides the food, obviously):
Running up to the Mount Royal lookout to see the magnificent lights of the whole city. We ran because they start towing cars at 11 p.m. and it was 10:45 when we arrived. But truly a breathtaking view, and the cold breeze definitely enhanced it.
Seeing a beautiful snowfall. We walked on the streets and people watched (my favorite part about seeing a new city) and got an early dinner in a restaurant that had seating on their heated porch. We got to watch the snow fall on the busy streets as we sipped sangria. Seriously nothing in that moment could have been better.
The truly spectacular company. My friends are so uplifting, caring and fun. We laughed so much and shared so many memories. We also played a lot of Bananagrams (I lost every time. Definitely not my forte.) and “Most Likely To...” where you make up scenarios and point to a person in your group who it fits best. You learn so much about people by traveling with them.
Take a look at some of my favorite photos from the trip! And tell me in the comments - where are you itching to travel to next?
